This page explains how to ask BaskRate Ltd (company number 17081373) to delete personal data we hold about you, and what happens after you ask.
Email info@baskrate.co.uk with the subject line “Data deletion request”, and include:
We need that phone number or email address because it is how your record is identified in our systems. Without it we may not be able to find you, and we will come back to you rather than guess.
You do not need to give a reason, and there is no charge.
We will confirm in writing what has been deleted within 30 days of receiving your request. In practice it is usually much quicker.
If we need more information to identify your record, we will ask — and the 30 days runs from the point we have what we need.
This is the important one, and it is worth being plain about.
If you submitted an enquiry about roofing or other trade work, the tradesperson you contacted is the controller of that data — not us. We hold and process it on their behalf, as their processor.
So when you ask us to delete it, we will:
We will not quietly sit on a request. If a client refuses or does not respond, we will tell you that and give you their details so you can take it up with them, or with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Deletion is not always absolute. We may need to retain a limited amount of data where the law requires it — for example accounting records, or a minimal suppression record so that we do not re-add you to a list you have asked to leave. Where that applies we will tell you exactly what has been kept and why. Everything else goes.
This page covers data held by BaskRate. If you want to remove data held by Meta about your use of Facebook or Instagram, including any connection to an app, that is done in your Meta account settings — we cannot do it for you.
Deletion is one of several rights you have. You can also ask for access to your data, correction of it, restriction of how it is used, portability, or object to processing we base on legitimate interests. Those are set out in our Privacy Policy.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113 at any time.
